Savana Calero’s family expected it to take months, perhaps even years, to find a suitable donor for a bowel transplant she needed due to a life-threatening gastrointestinal disease that ravaged her small intestine. But just two weeks after being placed April 27 on a waiting list, the Rensselaer preschooler learned a match was found.
